What happens to your meal photos

A calorie app sees what you eat, so it should be clear about what it keeps. This is what Canoz does with a meal photo, taken from its privacy policy.

On your iPhone first

Canoz asks for your explicit consent to process health data before it analyzes any meal; without it, meals are not analyzed. Each photo is re-encoded on your phone before it is sent, which removes location and camera metadata.

Analyzed, then discarded

The photo travels through fal.ai and OpenRouter to a Google Gemini model, which returns the dishes, portions and nutrition values. Canoz switches off fal's request storage, fal does not train on customer content, and OpenRouter only routes to model hosts that do not store or train on requests.

The photo is then discarded. Only the result, the dish names, portions and nutrition values, is saved to your log.

What is kept, and where

Your profile, goals and food log are stored in your account on our own server in Türkiye, so the app works across launches. Settings → Delete account removes them from the database immediately.

No ads, no selling

Canoz does not show ads, does not track you across other apps and never sells your data. Apple Health data is never sent to the AI model. Read the full privacy policy, or see how the photo calorie counter works.

Questions and answers

Does Canoz store my meal photos?

No. The photo is sent for analysis and discarded; only the result is saved to your log.

Are my photos used to train AI models?

Canoz switches off request storage at fal.ai, which does not train on customer content, and OpenRouter only routes to model hosts that do not store or train on requests.

Does Canoz need my name or email?

No. Canoz creates an anonymous account and does not collect your name, phone number, contacts or precise location. Sign in with Apple is optional.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Settings → Delete account removes your profile, food log and related records from the database immediately. It does not cancel an App Store subscription, which you manage in your App Store account settings.
